Bioenergy and Tinnitus: How to Calm Ringing and Buzzing in the Ears
A quiet buzzing that is only heard in the evening, a ringing that does not stop even in silence, or a whistling that gets louder after a hard day. Tinnitus is common and can be very tiring, especially when it comes together with stress and poor sleep. In this article we explain what tinnitus is, what the most common causes of ringing in the ears are, why stress makes it worse and how bioenergy can help the body relax and cope with it more easily.

What tinnitus is and how it feels
Tinnitus is a sound a person hears in the ears or in the head that does not come from the surroundings. Some describe it as buzzing, others as ringing, whistling or rustling. It can be heard in one or both ears, constantly or from time to time. It is most often recognized by the following:
- buzzing, ringing or whistling in the ears that others cannot hear
- noise that gets louder in silence, especially in the evening and before sleep
- a feeling of pressure in the ears or the head
- noise that is stronger after a hard, stressful day
- difficulty falling asleep because the noise will not let you rest
The most common causes of ringing in the ears
Tinnitus is not a disease in itself but a sign that something is happening in the body. The causes can be very different, and the most commonly mentioned are:
- exposure to noise, for example loud music or a noisy workplace
- changes in hearing that come with age
- tension in the neck, shoulders and jaw
- stress, tiredness and lack of sleep
- changes in blood pressure
- blockage or inflammation of the ear
That is why the first step with tinnitus is always a check-up with a doctor, ideally an ear, nose and throat specialist, who can determine the cause and rule out conditions that need treatment.
Tinnitus, stress and anxiety
Many people notice that the ringing in their ears is louder when they are stressed, tired or worried. A body under stress is on alert: the neck and shoulder muscles tighten, sleep gets worse and attention gets caught up more easily in unpleasant sensations. The noise then sounds louder and is harder to let fade into the background.
This creates a cycle: the noise causes unease, and the unease makes the noise worse. This is exactly where many people turn to relaxation and work with the body. Read more about how stress affects the body in the articles how stress affects the flow of energy in the body and how to calm anxiety.
How bioenergy can help with tinnitus
Bioenergy works with a person’s energy field and helps the body find its own way back to balance. With tinnitus it does not promise that the noise will disappear; instead it works on what often makes it worse: tension, restlessness and exhaustion of the body.
How bioenergy has a positive effect
- Calms the body. Helps the body come out of a state of constant alert.
- Releases tension in the neck and shoulders. Relaxed neck and jaw muscles bring relief to many people.
- Supports better sleep. A rested body tolerates the noise better and recovers faster.
- Reduces restlessness. Once the restlessness settles, it is easier to let the noise fade into the background.
- Restores a sense of balance. Energy that got stuck flows more freely again.
What people feel
Many people already feel warmth, deeper breathing and a relaxation that spreads through the whole body during the treatment. Some notice that the noise bothers them less after the treatment and that they can let it fade into the background more easily, while others fall asleep more easily. Experiences are individual, and people have shared some of them in the article bioenergy experiences.
What a treatment looks like
The treatment begins with a conversation about when the noise appears, when it is stronger and what is happening in life during that period. During a bioenergy treatment the person sits or stands, stays dressed and does not need to prepare anything special.
Vlasta Jašćur has been working with bioenergy for 38 years, and treatments take place in a calm space in Zagreb. For those who cannot come in person there is also distance bioenergy therapy. Read more about the method on the page Bioenergy: what it is, how it works and what a treatment looks like.
Small habits that help with ringing in the ears
The calm the body feels during a treatment is easier to keep with a few simple habits:
- In the evening, play a quiet, pleasant background sound, such as rain or the sea, so that silence does not make the tinnitus louder.
- Protect your hearing from loud noise and take breaks from noisy places.
- A few times a day, drop your shoulders, relax your jaw and gently move your neck.
- Before going to sleep, breathe calmly into your belly for a few minutes.
- Try to go to bed at roughly the same time each night.
- Do not listen for the noise on purpose. The less attention you give it, the more easily it fades into the background.
When to see a doctor
With tinnitus, seeing a doctor is always the first step. Seek help straight away if the noise appeared suddenly together with hearing loss, if it started after a head injury, if it pulses in rhythm with your heartbeat, if it comes with severe dizziness, or if it is only in one ear and does not go away.
